In most cases, to change the credentials with which Plesk accesses a database server, you should first change these credentials on the database server and then update them in Plesk. Except for the situations described below, you cannot change the credentials through Plesk.
Note: In most cases, updating the credentials through Plesk does not change them on the database server.
The exception is Plesk for Windows, which allows you to change the database administrators' password. Another exception is PostgreSQL, which receives the changes in database administrator credentials that you make in Plesk.
If you have changed the administrator's credentials on the database server, it is necessary to change them in Plesk as well.

You can change the password of the user that is currently used by Plesk to access the database server. When you change the password in the Plesk UI, it will be changed on the database server automatically and updated in the database server settings in Plesk.
